Classroom review game

Civics Challenge Board

Pick a square, wait for the countdown, and be the first team to buzz in. The teacher decides whether the answer earns or loses points.

Each new game draws 30 questions from a pool of 127 Iowa civics questions across seven themes. The location-dependent “Name your U.S. Representative” question is omitted. Point values organize the game; they are not an official test score.

How to play

Each new game draws six of the seven categories and five random questions per category. Choose a square, wait for the three-second countdown, then have teams tap their large buttons to buzz in. The first tap the browser receives wins. The teacher uses Correct or Wrong to score that team's spoken answer. Wrong deducts the square's points and reopens the buzzers for teams that have not answered. No answer closes the square with no winner or additional points.

The final challenge is optional. Each team sets a whole-number wager from zero up to its current nonnegative score before the question appears. The teacher scores each final answer separately.

Scores, played questions, and the selected board are kept in this browser tab if the page refreshes. “New game” clears scores and draws a fresh board.
